Vladimir seems to look after Estragon (giving him food, keeping him out of trouble, trying to get him to wear boots). His looking out for Estragon implies that he knows that Estragon is not as capable of living the life they do as Vladimir is. Vladimir knows Estragon is impractical and not as intelligent. Vladimir also knows that Estragon lacks pride when it comes to begging. Vladimir hates that about Estragon.
Vladimir has know Estragon for about 50 years I think since they were working for some man. I do not think this enables him to know everything about Estragon because he says, "you should have been a poet," then Estragon says, "I was can't you tell." This implies that Vladimir does not know everything about Estragon. He knows everything that has happened since they met but I doubt that he knows about his life before they met. Every time Estragon tries to tell Vladimir about his dreams he is ignored or shut down. Don't you think the same might have happened if Estragon ever tried to talk about his past? You could say Vladimir knows all he wants to know about Estragon.
Because Vladimir and Estragon have been fiends for many years Vladimir knows basically everything about Estagon's character. He takes care of his friend like Keyaira previously said feeding him and ect. The two have very different personalities one being optimistic and the other being pesimistic, because of that they complete each other. I believe that Vladimir is aware of this, and that makes them even closer
